Leah Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas / East Central) finished her last home games in style, batting a blistering .625 (5-8) across the series with a home run and five RBI. Josephine Koelewyn (Reno, Nevada / Academy for Arts Careers and Technology) picked up her 14th win of the season with another dazzling performance, shutting out Centenary in game one over six innings pitched with three strikeouts.

SCAC Pitcher of the Week

Megan Kriechbaum (Cedar Hills, Utah / Pleasant Grove) has won SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season for her performance against Centenary in game three.

Per SCAC Release:

Kriechbaum finished off the Tigers' three-game SCAC weekend sweep against Centenary with a complete-game victory. Kriechbaum pitched a two-hit shutout in a 6-0 victory for the Tigers, walking just two batters and recording 10 strikeouts to tie her career-high. She improved to 6-2 this season with a 2.35 ERA, finishing off her fourth complete-game shutout this weekend. Kriechbaum has recorded 71 strikeouts in 59.2 innings and notched 10 K's for the second time this season.

Tigers In the Polls

Tiger Softball has received votes in the NFCA Division III coaches poll for the first time this season. In addition, Trinity is now ranked 27th in the latest release of the NPI ranking system, putting the Tigers in the thick of being an at-large bid selection to the NCAA tournament.

Preview - For All The Marbles

The Tigers will head to St. Thomas (TX) for their final SCAC road series of the year, with an opening game on Friday, April 25th at 7:00 PM, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26th with game one at 1:00 PM, and game two at 3:00 PM.

On The University of St. Thomas Celts: The Celts are on fire this month. They have not dropped a game in April which has improved their record to 26-10 (22-4 SCAC) coming into this series. Although the Celts had a close call in game one of their most recent SCAC series against Austin College, they pummeled the 'roos into submission in games two and three to sweep the series. Junior catcher Chloe Bennett has been handy with the stick this season, mashing .413 with nine doubles, five home runs, and 49 RBI, all while only striking out three times. The Celts also have the conference's leader in Wins and Strikeouts on their pitching staff in sophomore pitcher Victoria Sossaman, who holds a 1.76 ERA, 108 strikeouts, and an 18-4 record. Tiger softball dropped a competitive series to the Celts at home last year 1-2 and look to improve upon the 6-9 record they have against St. Thomas historically.
