Maddox McDonald Earns D3baseball.com All-America Honors

SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University baseball senior Maddox McDonald (San Antonio, Texas / Antonian) has been selected as a 2025 Fifth Team All-American by D3baseball.com.

McDonald and the sixth-ranked Tigers will take a 41-8 record into the NCAA III College World Series in Eastlake, Ohio, and will begin tournament play at Classic Park on Friday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m. against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

This season, McDonald is batting .351 (66-for-188) with 54 runs scored and 61 RBI, cracking 18 doubles and 10 home runs. The only player on the team to start all 49 games this season, McDonald leads the team in doubles and RBI and also ranks in the top 25 nationally in both categories. His RBI total this season is tied for the fifth-most in school history for a single season and is just nine from the all-time record, set by Jeremy Wolf during the program's run to the NCAA III Championship in 2016.

Head Coach Tim Scannell is in his 27th season in charge of Trinity's baseball team, which has now reached the NCAA III World Series four times in its history – all since 2015. McDonald is the 17th All-American honoree under Coach Scannell's leadership and the Tigers have had at least one player receive the distinction for the past four years.
