Trinity Athletics Finishes 22nd in Learfield Directors' Cup

CLEVELAND – Trinity University has once again demonstrated its athletic excellence, finishing 22nd in the final standings of the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup. This marks the Tigers' fourth consecutive top 25 finish, solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse in NCAA Division III athletics.

The Learfield Directors' Cup, established by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today, recognizes the nation's top collegiate athletic programs based on their performance in NCAA Championships.

Trinity accumulated 636 total points, with contributions from 12 different teams throughout the academic year. The Tigers scored 226 points in the fall, 73 in the winter, and a whopping 337 in the spring. Notably, nine Trinity programs finished in the top 25 nationally, with six of those earning top 10 finishes.

The spring sports season featured five of the top 25 Tiger teams, including the Trinity baseball team advancing to the NCAA III College World Series for one of the top finishes of the year. Additionally, both men's and women's tennis teams finished tied for ninth, men's golf was 19th, and women's golf came in 22nd. Women's track & field also contributed 30 points to the spring sports total, which accounted for more than half of Trinity's overall scoring for the year.

The men's and women's swimming & diving teams both scored points in the winter sports season with the women's team garnering 49 points with a 25th-place finish. In the fall, women's soccer led the way with an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals that was good for a fall season-best 73 points. Both the men's soccer team and the volleyball team also finished tied for ninth, while football also added 25 points to the overall total.

Led by Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Bob King, Trinity's continued success in the Learfield Directors' Cup underscores the university's commitment to athletic excellence and student-athlete development. King picked up the fourth Division III Athletic Director of the Year award of his career from NACDA this year and was honored at the NACDA Convention in Orlando, Florida, this week.
