#11 Trinity Women’s Tennis Prepares to Battle for ITA Regional Championship

Abilene, Texas – Trinity Women's Tennis is headed to Abilene, Texas for the ITA Southwest Regional Championships from Thursday September 25th to Sunday September 28th. Last year the Tigers dominated in the tournament, sweeping both singles and doubles in all-Trinity finals.  Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) capped off her legendary run with back-to-back singles and doubles titles alongside her partner Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Arizona / Desert Mountain). This earned Hill her sixth All-American title and Kim her third, cementing their place in Tiger tennis history.

This year, however, looks a little different for the Tigers. Hill and Kim have graduated, leaving the title wide open. For the first time in years, someone new will rise to the top, and the Tigers are ready to claim it.  Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy), who has made the singles finals three straight years, is hungry to flip the script. Levy already knows what it takes. She captured the doubles title as a freshman, then narrowly missed out the next two years, most recently with partner Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minnesota / Wayzata) in a heart-stopping final that went down to the wire. With Trinity's depth in lineup, any Tiger could make their run in Abilene.

What makes the regional tournament so electric this year is the mix of history and opportunity. The Tigers have dominated Regionals for years, and the expectation is to keep that streak alive. With no defending champs in the draw, every match will matter, every tiebreak will be a battle, and new names are ready to etch themselves into the record books.

This weekend isn't just about another Trophy. It is about proving that Tiger Tennis doesn't rebuild, it reloads. Abilene will be the perfect Stage for Trinity Tennis to do just that.

Looking Ahead - ITA Cup

If Trinity claims the title in singles or doubles again, they will play in the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia from October 16th to the 19th.
