ABILENE, Texas – For the third consecutive season, the 11th-ranked Trinity University women's tennis team swept the ITA Southwest Regional Singles and Doubles Championships, which is the longest such streak for the Tigers since before the 1998-99 season.
Sunday was an all-Trinity final in both singles and doubles, which meant the Tigers had already clinched the titles heading into the morning. Trinity has won three straight ITA Regional Singles Championships and four consecutive ITA Doubles titles.
The singles competition led off the day with sophomore #4 seed
Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minn. / Wayzata) taking on junior #3 seed
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) for the championship. Nabedrick prevailed 6-1, 6-3 to win her first ITA Regional title and qualify for All-American honors in the process. Former Tiger standout
Ruth Hill won consecutive singles titles in 2023 and 2024 to close out her career.
Both players were also in the doubles final, as Andrade paired up with senior
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) as the tournament's top seed, while Nabedrick joined first-year
Eva Kovachev (Arlington, Texas / The Oakridge School) as the second-seeded team. The seeds held true for the doubles as Levy and Andrade won 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the title and earn distinction as All-Americans as well. It is the second doubles title for Levy, who teamed with
Cate Cushing to win the 2022 ITA Doubles Championship. After Levy's win in 2022, Hill and
Olivia Kim won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
