Trinity Women’s Tennis Sets for First Tournament at St. Mary’s

Trinity University will kick off its fall season with the Brother Al Invitational hosted by St. Mary's University (Texas),

Last Season

The Tigers return ITA West Region's Most Improved Player, Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Carroll), and ITA West Region Player to Watch, Trinity Levy (Camarillo, California / Weli Tennis Academy). Now serving as captains, Andrade and Levy will lead a young squad after graduating five seniors, including All-American Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) and Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Arizona / Desert Mountain). With just eight players, the Tigers may be small in number, but they are mighty in talent.

The 2024-25 season was a strong one for Trinity. The Tigers posted a 21-5 record, finishing the year ranked No.11 nationally by the International Tennis Association (ITA). They captured the SCAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's round of 16, and were also recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team.

Individually, Levy and Andrade both earned First Team All-SCAC honors in doubles, plus spots on the SCAC All-Tournament Team in singles and doubles. Levy also received First Team recognition in singles, while Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minnesota / Wayzata) earned First team singles, SCAC All-Tournament singles, and SCAC Newcomer of the Year. Lauren Tin (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) earned All-Tournament honors in singles and doubles, and Katie Schmidt (Prairie Village, Kansas / Shawnee Mission East) earned All-Tournament Team in doubles

Head Coach Andrew Cohn, was named the 2025 SCAC Coach of the Year. He wrapped up his fifth season leading the Tigers. Under his guidance, Trinity secured four straight SCAC championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.

Last Year at St. Mary's

Trinity had a strong showing at last year's St. Mary's tournament, finishing with 16 singles wins and seven doubles victories. Hill, Tin, and Nabedrick each won their singles flights, while two others reached the finals. On the doubles side, three teams advanced to the finals.

In singles, Tin rallied from a set down to win her singles flight, and Nabedrick dropped only one set on her way to another title. Levy and Nabedrick battled through a tough tiebreak to reach their doubles final before finishing as runners-up. Andrade and Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) reached the semifinals in their doubles flight and went on to claim third place
