No. 11 Tiger Women's Tennis Faces Top 20 Road Test.
The No. 11 Trinity University Tigers Women's Tennis hits the road this weekend for a major early-season challenge, taking on No. 13 Carnegie Mellon University Women's Tennis on Friday and No. 18 Case Western Reserve University Tennis on Saturday.
Trinity enters the weekend with confidence after a 6-1 win over Our Lady of the Lake University, continuing to build momentum early this spring. The Tigers have shown consistency in doubles and depth across singles, and this weekend presents an opportunity to measure that progress against two nationally ranked opponents.
Carnegie Mellon comes in undefeated at 5-0, most recently earning a dominant 7-0 sweep over Dickinson. The Tartans have been sharp from top to bottom and are currently ranked No. 13 in the country. Friday's matchup will require discipline and focus from the first point, especially in doubles where early momentum could set the tone.
Case Western enters at 4-1 and ranked No. 18 nationally. The Spartans are coming off a 4-0 win over Christopher Newport and have shown the ability to close out matches efficiently. Saturday will test Trinity's endurance and composure as the Tigers compete in back to back high level matches.
This weekend is about staying steady, competing with confidence, and embracing the challenge against top 20 competition. It is an opportunity for Trinity to continue sharpening its level as the season gains momentum.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers return home on March 5, hosting Hope College Women's Tennis at 5:00 p.m.
