No. 11 Trinity University Tigers Women's Tennis opens the spring season on the road with a nationally ranked matchup against No. 29 Whitman College Blues Women's Tennis, as the Tigers look to carry their dominant fall momentum into the spring.
Last Time – Tigers Sweep ITA Southwest Regionals
Trinity closed the fall with a historic performance at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, sweeping both the singles and doubles titles for the third consecutive season, marking the program's longest such streak since before the 1998–99 season.
Sunday's finals featured all-Trinity matchups in both singles and doubles, securing the championships before play even began. The Tigers have now claimed three straight ITA Regional Singles titles and four consecutive ITA Regional Doubles championships, reinforcing their position among the nation's elite programs.
In singles play, sophomore
Lucy Nabedrick (Plymouth, Minn. / Wayzata) defeated
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) 6-1, 6-3 to earn her first ITA Regional singles title and secure All-American honors. Doubles competition also belonged to the Tigers, as
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) and Andrade captured the championship, extending Trinity's run of regional dominance.
Preview – Tigers Begin The Spring on the Road
Trinity enters the spring ranked No. 11 nationally and faces a challenge with an away from home match against No. 29 Whitman. The Tigers will look to establish momentum early as they begin a demanding spring schedule. Saturday's match will test the Tigers' ability to perform on the road against difficult opponents.
Looking Ahead – Home Opener Doubleheader
Trinity will return home to open its home schedule on Friday, February 14, hosting a doubleheader against UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs Women's Tennis and Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders Women's Tennis. This double header will mark the Tigers' first home matches of the spring as they are beginning to strengthen into conference and postseason play.
