No. 11 Tiger Women’s Tennis Hosts Nationally-Ranked Opponents on Spring Break

The No. 11 Trinity University Tigers Women's Tennis remains home in San Antonio over spring break for a four-match stretch at Butch Newman Tennis Center. The week brings a mix of ranked opponents and different styles of play, making it one of the more competitive stretches of the season.

Trinity opens Thursday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m. against No. 39 Hope College Women's Tennis, who enter 3-4 on the season. Hope has already faced strong regional competition and will look to challenge early in doubles. For Trinity, starting clean and setting the tone from the first courts on will be important.

On Sunday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m., the Tigers face No. 36 Haverford College Women's Tennis in Haverford's season opener. With no matches yet under their belt, Haverford comes in fresh and preparedt. Trinity will need to establish rhythm early and show their experience in this matchup.

The Tigers face No. 22 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis, on Thursday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. They are 2-2 on the season. Swarthmore has already faced top competition, including nationally ranked teams, and has shown the ability to compete deep into singles lineups. This matchup will be one of the tightest of the week.

Spring break will conclude Friday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. against No. 29 Skidmore College Women's Tennis. They are currently 0-3 after opening against strong Northeast programs. Despite the record, Skidmore has played top-10 nationally ranked opponents and will bring seasoned players into San Antonio.

With four matches in eight days, depth, discipline, and match management become just as important as individual execution. Trinity has the opportunity to compete against multiple top-40 programs while staying in a familiar environment. It is a week that will demand consistency in singles and the ability to close out doubles matches efficiently.
