Trinity Softball looks ahead to host Millsaps College on the Tigers' senior weekend, their last home games of the season.
The Tigers (23-8-1) are coming off of three run-rule wins against Sewanee last weekend, putting them in first place in the SAA conference rankings. Two Tigers achieved conference recognition for their performance this past weekend:
Jordan Arce (Thousand Oaks, Calif. / Thousand Oaks) was tabbed SAA Pitcher of the Week, and
Hannah Boudreaux (Pearland, Texas / Shadow Creek) was named SAA Player of the Week! In the third game of the series, Arce hit an in the park homerun and held Sewanee to only one hit in the circle, collecting nine strikeouts. Boudreaux had a six hit weekend, going .750 with 4 RBI. Altogether, the Trinity Tigers collected 28 hits and scored just as many runs across only 15 innings.
Preview - Senior Weekend
Trinity will play their final home games of the 2026 season against the Millsaps College Majors on Saturday, April 25 at 1 PM & 3 PM as well as Sunday, April 26 at 11 AM.
On the Millsaps Majors: The Majors (21-11 overall, 7-5 in SAA) have been fighting to stay afloat and qualify for the SAA tournament, ranked 4th currently. The Majors' offense is led by Brynn Arena, hitting .378. Ella Morgan Sears is Millsaps' speed on the bases, taking 20 stolen bases in 22 attempts this season. The Majors have a strong pitching staff, led by Hailey Peterson who has held her opponents to a 1.18 ERA. The Tigers will also face Hailey Marange, with a 2.03 ERA, Julie Amacher, with a 3.08 ERA, and Allana Vasquez with a 3.42 ERA. Overall, this staff has good pitch control, only giving up 64 walks this season.
Key to the Series
The Tigers offense should expect to see pitches in the zone, and should be ready to attack the flat pitches early in the series. The Majors' pitching staff isn't likely to give many free passes, so the Tigers should continue to swing the bat well, as they have been all season.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will conclude their SAA series matchups next week in Danville, Kentucky, facing the Centre College Colonels on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.
