Trinity Softball Takes On Centre In Final Regular Season Weekend

Trinity Softball heads to Danville, Kentucky for their final SAA series against Centre College.
 
Trinity (26-8-1) are coming off of a series sweep against the Millsaps Majors last weekend. These three wins clinched the Tigers a guaranteed entrance into the SAA tournament, hosted in Columbus, Georgia. Hannah Boudreaux (Pearland, Texas / Shadow Creek), Angela Baltzell (Antioch, Calif. / Freedom), and Carsyn Lee (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound) each hit a triple this past weekend, being huge contributors to the Tigers' three wins. Hayden Del Toro (Cypress, Texas / Cy Woods) showed her speed, collecting three stolen bases on the weekend. In the circle, Jordan Arce (Thousand Oaks, Calif. / Thousand Oaks) held the Majors scoreless in the first game, collecting 9 strikeouts during her senior weekend outing. Megan Kriechbaum (Cedar Hills, Utah / Pleasant Grove) was tabbed SAA Pitcher of the week, holding Millsaps scoreless in 9 total innings pitched, and collecting 6 strikeouts. Overall, Trinity's pitching staff was very effective this past weekend. 
 
Preview - Final Conference Matchup 
 
Trinity will finish off their SAA conference play against the Centre College Colonels in Danville, Kentucky on Saturday, May 2 at 1 PM & 3 PM, as well as Sunday, May 3 at 10 AM. 
 
On the Centre Colonels: Centre (15-18 overall, 5-10 SAA) will play their final games of their 2026 season against the Tigers, as they were eliminated from qualifying for the SAA tournament. The Colonels' offense is led by Kennedy Caudill, batting .404, as well as Brinley Muller, batting .390. In the circle, the Tigers will likely see Caudill, Ashley Howard, and Sophia Lay. Centre's pitching staff has an ERA of 6.18
 
Key to the Series
 
The Tigers should focus on continuing to put the bat on the ball, scoring early and often. Ultimately, Trinity should utilize this weekend as an opportunity to build momentum going into the SAA Tournament and their postseason. 
 
On the Horizon
 
The Tigers will head to the SAA Championship Tournament in Columbus, Georgia from May 7 - May 9.
