guard Danielle Hubenak has been selected as the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-7 Hubenak, from San Antonio (Churchill), led the
17th-ranked Tigers to season-opening home victories over No. 24
Hardin-Simmons and McMurry last weekend.
Hubenak averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists
over the two games, highlighted by her triple-double in the opener
against Hardin-Simmons. She finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds,
and 11 assists in the game with the Cowgirls. In the overtime game
with McMurry, Hubenak produced 18 points and seven assists.
Last season, Hubenak was second on the team with 15.1 points per
game, and led the Tigers with a school-record 133 assists (4.75 per
game). Hubenak also collected 4.9 rebounds per game, and was
second on the team with 53 total steals.
Trinity, guided by fifth-year head coach Amie Bradley, will host
Mary Hardin-Baylor at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, in Sams Gym.
