San Antonio - Trinity women's soccer
juniors Emily Jorgens and Kelsey Falcone have been named to the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America
teams.
The two Tiger standouts have led the team to its first
appearance in the NCAA Semifinals since 2002. Trinity will
face Middlebury (VT) College at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, in
the semifinal round. The winner advances to the NCAA Division
III Championship at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Jorgens has set new school records in both single season assists
and total points this year, notching 29 assists and 65 total points
to go with her 18 goals scored. She also leads the Tigers
with seven game-winning goals. Jorgens also broke Trinity's
career record for assists, and is just 10 points from tying that
career mark as well. She is the only player in Trinity
women's soccer history to score 40 or more goals and 40 or more
assists in a career.
Falcone became the sixth player in school history to score 20 or
more goals in one season, netting 21 goals in 26 games this season.
She has also scored 13 assists for 55 total points, as well
as five game-winning goals. Falcone is just three goals from
tying the school record for goals in one year (24).
Jorgens earned First Team All-America honors for her efforts,
and is a three-time All-American in her career. She was a
Second Team NSCAA All-American last season, and was also selected
for the D3soccer.com All-America team in both 2011 and 2012.
Falcone earned Second Team All-America honors, and was named to
the NSCAA All-West Region and All-Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference teams for the second straight season.
