San Antonio – The Trinity Tigers women's soccer team is currently on a summer journey to Denmark and Sweden.

Owen Collie, the Trinity players are combining the trip with sightseeing of the beautiful Scandinavian countries, and honing their soccer skills with some of the top European club teams.
The memorable trip began on July 19, with a flight from San Antonio to New York, and then on to Copenhagen, Denmark. It concludes, all too soon, as the team returns home July 29.
The Trinity contingent crossed over from Denmark to Malmö, Sweden, where the Tigers had a behind the scenes look at the daily training of local professional club Malmö FF. By the way, Coaches Key and Collie are putting the Tigers through daily training regimens, as well!
Trinity's first match of the trip will take on Tuesday, July 23, in Halmstad, Sweden, against the club team Halma IS.
On the docket for Thursday, July 25, is a trip to Norrköping to attend the UEFA Euro 2013 (European women's championship) semifinals. After the game between Norway and Denmark, the Trinity group will continue on to Stockholm.
The Tigers will play prominent club team AIK on Saturday, July 27, in the second match of the tour.
A major thrill for the group will be to attend the UEFA Euro 2013 Championship match on Sunday, July 28, in Solna, a municipality of Stockholm. The winner between host Sweden and Germany will tangle with the Norway-Denmark winner. The match-up will be played in the 50,000-seat Friends Arena.
Of course, there will be time for guided tours and free travel among the wonders of Scandinavia. Here is an excerpt from the custom travel brochure about the Stockholm area:
"The old town, Gamla Stan, is a compact little maze of cobblestone streets. The stucco walls of its red, orange and vanilla buildings sag toward each other exhaustedly over countless souvenir shops and ice-cream parlours, while the Royal Palace crowns the tiny island. Just to the south of Gamla Stan is another island neighborhood, Södermalm, where high waterfront hills are graced by lovely old residences and the main drags are lined with bohemian shops, art galleries and rollicking clubs. On the other side of Gamla Stan is the main city centre, a buzzing metropolis whose boutiques and restaurants can hold their own against just about any big city on the continent."
Trinity's crew will depart on Monday, July 29, from Stockholm to Amsterdam, and then to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Delta Airlines Flight 5764 will arrive in San Antonio at 5:21 p.m.
