San Antonio - The Trinity men's and women's soccer programs have earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Awards for the 2015-16 academic year.
The NSCAA honors exemplary performance in the classroom, as well as on the soccer field. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The Tiger men are sporting a cumulative 3.08 GPA, and the women's team has amassed an average of 3.45.
On the field of NCAA Division III soccer competition, Trinity's men are ranked #1 in the nation by the NSCAA. Led by 26th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, the Tigers are sporting an undefeated 11-0-0 season, which includes an 8-0-0 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Trinity continues defense of its SCAC Championship this weekend, with two road games. First up is 19th-ranked Colorado College on Friday, at Colorado Springs, Colorado. The weekend wraps up Sunday as the Tigers take on the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
Trinity's women's team holds a #3 ranking by the NSCAA. First-year Head Coach Dylan Harrison leads the Tigers, who have a spotless 10-0-0 overall record. The defending SCAC champions stand at 5-0-0 in conference play. Trinity heads to Richardson, Texas, Saturday for a non-conference match-up with the University of Texas-Dallas. The SCAC champion Tigers return home Tuesday, October 11, to host Schreiner (TX) University in a conference game.
