Box Score San Antonio - Trinity Cody Hall, Nkolika Nweke, and Stella Affognon have been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week.
The Tigers turned in superb performances last weekend, which included the Trinity Invitational on campus, and the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
Hall, a senior, was tabbed as the SCAC Male Track Athlete of the Week. The versatile student-athlete broke a nine-year-old Tiger record in the long jump, posting a mark of 7.24 meters at the Trinity Invitational. He also captured the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.52 seconds and the high jump with a height of 2.00 meters, which were both season-best for Trinity. Hall posted a career-best in the high jump, which placed him in a tie for third in Trinity's record books. He ran the 110-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays, mainly against NCAA Division I competitors, in 14.68 seconds.
Hall is ranked #2 in the NCAA Division III in both the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump, after his efforts at the Trinity Invitational. He is tied for 11th place in the high jump.
Nweke is the SCAC Female Track Athlete of the Week. The Tiger senior ran leadoff in the 4x100-meter relay team at the Texas Relays, which finished the event in 49.37 seconds. She also ran a season-best 12.23 seconds in the 100-meter dash and is ranked seventh in Division III. Nweke finished fourth among collegiate competitors in the 200-meter dash at the Trinity Invitational with a time of 25.73 seconds.
Affognon was tabbed as the SCAC Female Field Athlete of the Week. The junior broke a 10-year-old school record in the discus with a mark of 39.85 meters at the Trinity Invitational. Affognon is ranked 18th nationally in the event.
The Tiger men's and women's teams will compete Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, California.
