Tiger Women's Soccer eyes fifth SCAC Championship in a row.

Last weekend, the Tigers (14-1-2, 10-0 SCAC) won 5-0 against Ozarks and 4-0 against Centenary College. On senior night,
Abby Schneider (Albuquerque, N.M, / Bosque School) stepped up to convert from close range to give the Tigers an early lead 41 seconds into the match. Schneider doubled her tally against the Eagles just three minutes later to give the Tigers a comfortable 2-0 lead. The Tigers started on fire in the second half, with
Michaela Bosco (Weatherford, Texas / Weatherford) slotting the ball home in the 47th minute after a perfect through ball from Schneider.
Bri Werner (Woodbine, Md. / Glenelg) joined the scoresheet after a powerful shot into the bottom left corner.
Hanna Khan (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) finished the Eagles off with a great solo run to score her fourth goal in six games.

Against Centenary, Werner opened the scoring after a searching pass from
Kylie Harris (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) found her stride on the edge of the Centenary box. Khan joined the scoresheet early in the second half after a brave run into the opposition box saw her tap the ball home. Werner scored her second of the game only 30 seconds later after tapping home a rocketed cross from Bosco
. Lastly, Schneider sent the Ladies home with her seventh goal of the season, ending the game at 4-0. Trinity ends the regular season as Conference Champions of the SCAC.Â

SCAC Offensive Player of the Week - Bri Werner

Bri Werner has been selected as the SCAC Player of the Week.

Werner led Trinity to a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference shutout wins to close out the regular season, clinching the Regular Season Championship with a perfect 10-0-0 record in league play. Werner finished the weekend with three goals and an assist, including the eventual game-winning goal against Centenary in the regular season finale on Sunday. Werner put Friday's game out of reach with her 55th-minute goal that put the Tigers up 4-0 at the time. Against Centenary, she netted two goals and an assist among the four goals scored. Werner scored the only goal of the first half for the game-winner, then assisted on the first goal of the second half. Just 30 seconds later, the Tigers scored again as Werner netted her second of the day. This season, Werner is tied for the team lead with 22 total points, scoring eight goals and recording six assists. She is tied for the team lead in goals and is second on the team in assists. Â

SCAC Defensive Player of the Week - Malea Cesar

Malea Cesar has been selected as the SCAC Player of the Week.

Cesar led the Tiger women's soccer team to a pair of shutout victories to close out the regular season last weekend, finishing with a perfect 10-0-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record and securing the Regular Season Championship. Cesar and Trinity's defense limited both teams to just one shot each in their respective games, collecting the 14th and 15th shutouts of the season - nine of which came in conference play.

Preview- SCAC Tournament

This weekend, the Tigers will play in the tournament as the first-ranked seed and will compete in the semifinal against the Southwestern Pirates on Friday, November 8th at 12:00 PM. If the Tigers were to win the match, they would play against the winner of the Concordia/Texas Lutheran match for the championship.Â

On the Southwestern Pirates: The Pirates bring a record of 9-6-1 to the SCAC championship. Recently, the Pirates lost 2-0 against Concordia and tied McMurry 2-2 to secure the fourth seed in the SCAC tournament. In their last match this year, the Tigers blanked the Pirates 5-0 in the regular season, bringing their all time record to 43-3-1 against the Pirates (6-0-1 SCAC Tournament).

If the Tigers were to take home the SCAC Title, they would collect an automatic bid to the NCAA III Playoffs on November 15th and 16th. If not, the Tigers will hope to gain an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
