Trinity Men's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule

SAN ANTONIO – The Trinity University men's basketball team announces the 2025-26 schedule, which includes four teams ranked in last season's final D3hoops.com national poll.

The Tigers begin the season with six regular season games away from home, beginning with the opener at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) on Sunday, November 9. The following weekend will be a huge test for the Trinity team, which will be led by new Head Coach Marwan Elrakabawy this year. Coach Elrakabawy joins the Tiger program after six successful seasons at Schreiner University (TX). That big test comes at the Midway Classic, hosted by the University of Chicago (IL). In addition to the hosts, who were ranked #23 last season, Trinity will also face off against fifth-ranked Emory University (GA). Following the trip to Illinois, the Tigers are back on the road for three more games the following weekend in Pennsylvania. Trinity faces Marietta College (OH) and Case Western Reserve University (OH) on November 21 and 22, at the Great Lakes Invitational that will be hosted by Washington & Jefferson College (PA).

Trinity will make its home debut at the end of the month, hosting Hardin-Simmons University (TX) on November 30. That kicks off a streak of seven out of eight games at home that will spill into the new year. The Tigers will travel to its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference nemesis in the form of the University of St. Thomas (TX) on December 6, followed by the second game of a home-and-home series against UMHB on December 9. Trinity will host the Leslie Robinson Classic on December 20 and 21, which will feature eight games across two days. Trinity will take on #13 Saint John's University (MN) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, but the tournament also features Hardin-Simmons, Marietta, the University of Mary Washington (VA), Schreiner, and St. Thomas.

In addition to being the new era for Trinity under the direction of Coach Elrakabawy, it will also be a new era for the Tigers in the Southern Athletic Association. Trinity will begin SAA play against another former SCAC team in Southwestern University (TX) on Saturday, January 3. The Tigers meet last year's SAA Champion, Berry College (GA), at home on Sunday, January 11, and then on the road on Sunday, February 15. The Tigers will face all SAA teams twice in the regular season and will make trips to Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Georgia. The SAA Tournament will also be hosted by Berry in Mount Berry, Ga., from Thursday, February 26 through Sunday, March 1. The winner will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs.
