Men's Soccer's Samuel Theiss Named Academic All-American®

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The second-ranked Trinity University men's soccer junior Samuel Theiss (Boerne, Texas / Boerne) has been named a Second Team Academic All-American® by the College Sports Communicators.

Theiss is the 11th Academic All-America® award-winner for the Tiger men's soccer team and the first such honoree since Brent Mandelkorn picked up First Team recognition in 2017. He is the ninth different player to earn the award as both Tyler Czinege (2009, 2010) and Scott Schwartz (2004, 2005) were both repeat winners.

This season, Theiss was also named a First Team All-Region and First Team All-American player by the United Soccer Coaches, while also earning First Team All-Southern Athletic Association honors as well. He was selected for the SAA Championships and the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Teams. Theiss picked up Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll accolades last season and was on the Trinity Dean's List for the Spring 2025 semesters.

Trinity finished the season as the NCAA runner-up with a 20-2-1 overall record, making the NCAA Championship game for just the third time in program history and the first time since 2007. The Tigers were the SAA Regular Season Champions in their first year as full-time members in the league but were eliminated in penalty kicks in the SAA Tournament Semifinals.
