No. 19 Tiger Women’s Golf Remains In Second After Day Two of SAA Championships

Dickson, Tenn. – The No. 19 Trinity Women's Golf team maintained second place after a fifteen-over-par round two at the SAA Conference Championship, held at Greystone GC in Dickson, Tennessee. Trinity's +15 in round two moved them to +32 overall, thirteen shots behind tournament leaders Sewanee at +19. The field scoring average of 81.22 in round two reflected another demanding day on the course.

The Rundown

Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) led Trinity for the second consecutive day, carding a one-over-par 73 (+1) to sit second overall at +3. Mason has been the standout performer of the tournament, and her six birdies across two rounds rank tied second in the entire field, the highest total among all Trinity players.

Lauren Huddleston (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek) posted a two-over-par 74 (+2) to sit T4 overall at +5, going 38 on the front nine to give herself a strong platform for the back nine, where she shot a 36. Huddleston has been the backbone of Trinity's scorecard all week, with her 27 pars across the tournament leading the entire field outright.

Sabrina Nader (Houston, Texas / The Kinkaid School) carded a six-over-par 78 (+6) to sit T18 overall at +15. Nader produced an even back nine of 39 to match her front nine, showing the kind of composure that has kept Trinity well clear of the field behind them.

Natalie Lewis (El Paso, Texas / Coronado) also carded a six-over-par 78 (+6) to sit T20 overall at +16, shooting 38 on the front nine holes and a back nine of 40. Lewis stepped up when Trinity needed contributions across the card and her score counted toward the team total on the day.

Naaz Mehta (Newton, Pa. / Council Rock North) posted a nine-over-par 81 (+9) to sit T16 overall at +14. Mehta has shown real precision on the shorter holes throughout the week, with her Par 3 average of 3.25 across the tournament ranking twelfth in the field.

Mason Fikes (Dallas, Texas / Plano West) carded an eleven-over-par 83 (+11) to sit 24th overall at +18. Fikes has been one of Trinity's most attacking players across both rounds, with her four birdies across the tournament ranking tied tenth in the field.

Trinity ranks second in total birdies across the tournament with 20, and ranks second in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.36, the second-best mark in the field.
