Women's Cross Country, Track & Field Programs 17th Nationally

San Antonio - The Trinity University Tigers women's cross country and track and field programs finished 17th in the inaugural NCAA Division III Deb Vercauteren Program of the Year Award standings.

Trinity teams registered 125 points, along with Ithaca College, based on Division III postseason competition. Wartburg College was the winner, with six points. The program in administered by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Tiger women's cross country team, led by ninth-year head coach Jenny Breuer, finished sixth as a team at the NCAA Championships, held last November at Hanover, Ind.

Trinity's women's track and field team, led by first-year head coach David Svoboda, placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships last March, at Terre Haute, Ind. The Tigers were 73rd at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, held in late May at Marietta, Ohio.

The NCAA Division III Deb Vercauteren Program of the Year Award is named after USTFCCCA Hall of Famer and current Wisconsin-Oshkosh women's head coach Deb Vercauteren. Her Titans have won a combined 18 NCAA national titles.
