NEW ORLEANS – The Trinity University men's and women's track & field teams were both honored as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, while nine individual Tiger student-athletes were named All-Academic Athletes for the 2026 season.
Teams were required to have a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or higher for the spring semester. Individuals were required to have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the spring semester, while also finishing among the top 50 individuals or top 35 relay teams in an event and/or competing at NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championships.
Making the list for the Trinity men's team were senior
Bocar Diagana (Edina, Minn. / Edina) and sophomore
Kyle Fix (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier), with Diagana earning the recognition for the third time in his career. The Tiger women featured sophomores
Halle Hamilton (Craig, Colo. / Moffat County),
Annabelle Lanik (Sugar Land, Texas / St. John's),
Sophia Ortiz (Liberty Hill, Texas / Liberty Hill), and
Emerson Voldan (Arlington, Texas / Mansfield Summit), along with first-years
Ciara Catton (Leander, Texas / Leander),
Isabella Gaylord (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan), and
Brightly Thoning (Homer, Alaska / Homer). Voldan earned the award for the second straight year and was the only repeat winner for the women's team.

Marcus Whitehead, the Tiger men's and women's track & field teams finished as runners-up at the Southern Athletic Association Outdoor Championships. Earlier in the semester, Trinity's women won the SAA Indoor Championship, with the men finishing second. Lanik earned All-American honors in both the indoor and outdoor long jump, finishing third at both events. Diagana was also an All-American after finishing 16th at indoor nationals, then finished up with a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Thoning and Lanik teamed up with
Nia Scott (Dickinson, Texas / Dickinson) and
Shifa Daredia (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) to finish 14th in the outdoor 4x100-meter relay at the NCAA Championships.
