San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers first-year student-athlete Kathryn Sheldon of West Chester, Pa. (West Chester East), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Diver of the Week.

Sheldon posted a victory on the 1-meter board last Saturday in dual meets against Texas-Permain Basin and the University of the Incarnate Word, in San Antonio. Winning her first event in collegiate competition, Sheldon edged out All-America teammate Hayley Emerick (SCAC conference Champion on the 1-meter three years in a row) with a score of 246.15 to 244.55. She also came back with a strong third place finish (222.75) on the 3-meter board, behind teammates Emerick (285.85), the NCAA Division III national champion, and Ruth Hahn.

Trinity's swimming and diving team will host McMurry University Saturday in Hixon Natatorium. The diving competition begins at 9 a.m., and the swimming at 1 p.m.
