Men's Swimming and Diving Sweep SCAC Awards

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 25th ranked Men's Swimming and Diving Program sweeps this week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Awards after taking first place in the Tiger Invite. Sophomore Michael Kohl (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) earned his first SCAC Swimmer of the Week award and first-year Konstantine Partalas (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) won his second SCAC Diver of the Week award this season. 

Over the weekend, Kohl earned two victories and two runner up finishes at the Tiger Invite this weekend. Kohl posted an NCAA B cut time of 44.90 to win the 100 freestyle on Sunday night. The sophomore started the weekend with a first place time of 20.62 in the 50 freestyle. He also finished second in the 200 free (1:40.34) and the 100 back (51.46) on Saturday. Kohl also swam on all four of the Tigers' winning relays. He split a 20.30 in the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.18). Kohl raced to a 50.27 leading off the school record setting 400 medley relay  (3:21.58). Kohl opened the 200 medley relay (1:31.79) with a 23.31 backstroke leg. He ended the weekend with a 45.42 anchor leg on the 400 freestyle relay (3:03.73). 

Partalas won the one meter diving event on Friday with a score of 419.65, which was just four points more than the runner up. He also placed second in the three meter dive with a score of 447.80 on Saturday.

The Tigers will host Oklahoma Christian University on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at the Hixon Natatorium. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
