Wildman won the men's 55-meter hurdles Saturday at the Boston
University Valentine Invitational indoor track and field meet.
Wildman, from Dallas (Jesuit), ran the race in 7.50 seconds. He
previously earned an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time,
in Bloomington, Ill., on Feb. 5, also with a time of 7.50. During
the Illinois Wesleyan meet, Wildman also recorded an NCAA automatic
score of 3,876 points, in winning the pentathlon event.
He is the defending NCAA pentathlon national champion.
Earlier in the Boston meet, dominated by Division I athletes,
Wildman and teammates Chass Armstrong of Boerne, Texas (Boerne);
Zach Brush of Edmond, Okla. (Edmond North); and senior Bryant
Wright of Tulsa, Okla. (Holland Hall), placed fourth in the
distance medley (9:59.66) and received an NCAA provisional
qualifying mark.
On Saturday, Armstrong finished 39th in the mile
(4:16.22) with a new Trinity indoor record, and Brush was
44th in the 800 meters (1:56.17).
Junior Caitlin Masse of Katy, Texas (Cinco Ranch), placed
seventh in the women's 5,000 meters on Friday, with an NCAA
provisional time of 17:23.48.
The NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships begin
March 12 at Greencastle, Ind.
A handful of Trinity track and field athletes will
next compete Feb. 26, at the NYU Fast Track Meet in New York.
