Rachel and Sonia Brady have been elected to the ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-District 6 College Division Women's Track and
Field/Cross Country First Team.
The two Tiger student-athletes, both juniors from Jakarta,
Indonesia (Jakarta International School), are now eligible for
selection to the national Academic All-America Team, to be
announced June 24. Voting is conducted nationwide by the College
Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Rachel Brady is a biology major with a 3.87 grade point average,
and Sonia Brady majors in engineering, with a 3.93 GPA.
The Bradys each entered four events at the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference Championships in April, at Conway, Ark. Sonia
narrowly missed All-SCAC recognition, by finishing fourth in the
javelin throw. She placed fifth in the discus, 10th in the hammer
throw, and 14th in the shot put.
Rachel was seventh in the discus, ninth in the hammer, 17th in
the shot put, and 21st in the javelin.
Trinity's men's and women's track and field
teams are led by second-year head coach David Svoboda.
