Box Score The Tigers were back in action for the 4th consecutive week, this time making the trip down to Texas A&M University at Kingsville for the Cactus Cup, facing largely division one competition. Highlights of the day included Senior Zach Brush placing 2nd in the 1500 meters, and First Year George Warren taking 3rd in the high jump.
Among the Lady Tigers, Sophomore Elana Edwards placed 6th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.57 meters. Edwards also competed in the 4x100 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay, long jump, and triple jump, notching another 6th place showing in the long jump. First Year Rosemary Steup also put in a solid performance in the Women's 1500 meters, breaking the five minute mark for the first time this year with a 7th place finish in a time of 4:58.10. Senior Sonia Brady finished in 6thplace in the discus throw with a toss of 35.17 meters, while Kathryn Coster placed 7th in the shot put and 6th in the hammer throw.
All-American Zach Brush made his season debut in the 1500 meters, an event in which he placed 2ndat the SCAC championships last year. His time of 4:07.77 was only 6 hundredths of a second away from the win, taken by Luis Serrano of UT Pan American. George Warren again had a solid showing in the high jump, this time clearing 1.94 meters for a solid 3rd place finish. Other scoring athletes for the Tigers included Kevin Martin and Sean Scott, who both tied for 3rd place in the pole vault, and First Year Will Paulus, who placed 7th in the 400 meters in a time of 52.19. Brandon Kelso had a terrific day in the throwing events, taking 2nd in the javelin along with 6th place finishes in the shot put and hammer throw.
Kingsville Results
Earlier this week Ryan Gill competed in his first decathlon at Rice University in the Shirley Crowe Combined Events Classic. He placed 10th overall, competing against mainly division I and division II athletes. His score of 5178 puts him second on Trinity's Top-Ten list.

The Tigers will run, jump, and throw again on Friday as they travel to Rice University for the Victor Lopez Bayou Classic.
