Box Score A select group of Tigers competed at the 29th Annual Victor Lopez Classic, hosted by Rice University.
Senior Caitlin Masse ran her second ever 10,000m race in 37:33.44, which was good for a second place finish in the event. Her mark was less than ten seconds off of the NCAA provisional mark, and places her 1st on the SCAC performance list.
First Year Jessie Dean completed her first collegiate steeplechase running an impressive 11:59.37 for the 3000 meter event. Her time placed her 6th behind five division I runners. This mark also moves her into 7th place in the Tiger record books, and ranks her 2nd on the SCAC performance list for 2011.
Other performances included sophomore Emily Shiraki clearing 10'02, or 3.10m, to finish 13th in the women's pole vault. Sophomore Elana Edwards finished 11th in the competitive high jump with a solid 5'03, 1.60m.
On the men's side the sophomore tandem of Francisco Escobedo and Sal Perdomo placed 4th and 5th in their first 10,000m, running 32:42.50 and 32:54.14 respectively. Their times put them at 3rd and 4th on the Trinity top ten list. Escobedo now also sits in 2nd on the SCAC performance list for the event.
Senior Zach Brush placed 10th in the highly competitive "A" heat of the Men's 800m with a time of 1:53.48. This is a season best for Brush and is less than a second off of the NCAA provisional mark.
Other notable performances include Junior Ryan Gill and first-year George Warren both jumping 6'02 in the high jump, placing 13th and 16th respectively. Senior Guss Hoff ran 51.80 in the 400m dash, while Spencer Hayes finished 11th in the 100m dash (11.26) and 34th in the 200m dash (22.80).
