San Antonio - Junior Sal Perdomo and sophomore Jessie Dean have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track Athletes of the Week.

Trinity's men's and women's teams competed at the Rhodes Invitational last weekend, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Perdomo broke Trinity's record in his first 3,000-meter steeplechase of the spring season with a time of 9:31.46.  He broke the previous record by four seconds, improving his personal-best time by 15 seconds. 

Perdomo's time is the best in the SCAC so far this season, and he also ranks third in Division III with his time.

Dean took second place in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in a time of 11:56.12 to lead all SCAC runners this season.

Trinity will host the Trinity Heptathlon-Decathlon Meet this week, as well as the Tiger Relays on March 30.  Select Tiger student-athletes will also be shooting for a spot in the Texas Relays next week, hosted by the University of Texas, in Austin, Texas.
