Seniors Shine at the Gregory Final Qualifier Meet

Box Score

Naperville, Illinois - Senior Corey Callahan's performance in the heptathlon currently places her 23rd in the nation, making her the highest ranking Trinity track and field athlete in any event.

Her point total of 4,310 was a huge improvement from her last time out: 219 points to be exact. It puts her second all-time for Trinity in the event.  In addition to her excellent performance in the overall heptathlon, she also notched personal bests in four of the seven events. These include the 100m hurdles (15.77), the shot put (8.57 meters), the 800 meter (2:27.44), and the long jump (5.64 meters).

Even more impressive is that Callahan's mark in the long jump was not only a new school record, breaking her own previous best jump of 5.54 meters, but it also has her tied for 28th in the nation. She placed second overall in the heptathlon, finishing first in the long jump and second in the 800 meters.

In other multis action, senior Ryan Gill finished third overall in the decathlon with a score of 5,835 points. Like Callahan, that total puts him second all-time for Trinity in the event. Gill had a personal best in the pole vault, jumping 3.30 meters, and in the 1,500 meters, running 4:54.43. He placed first in the javelin with a throw of 50.19 meters and finished second in the 1500 meter run.
