Box Score San Antonio - Three members of the Trinity
Tigers men's and women's track and field teams have qualified for
the NCAA Division III Championships May 23-25 at La Crosse,
Wisconsin.
Senior Justin Campbell (men's discus), junior George Warren
(men's high jump), and junior Vanessa Moreno (women's 10,000 meter
run) will compete at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

discus competitors, with a throw of 52.43 meters (172.01 feet). He
made the top-10 throw at the UIW Last Chance Meet in San Antonio.
Campbell earned All-America honors in the discus in 2009, with
a third-place NCAA finish (50.18 meters, 164.58

month's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track &
Field Championships. In addition to the discus title, Campbell won
the hammer throw and shot put for the conference champion
Tigers, who hosted the meet.

women emerge as the SCAC Track and Field champions, by winning
the 1,500 and 5,000 meter events. Last fall, Moreno won the
SCAC Women's Cross Country Championship, and was named
conference Cross Country Runner of the Year. Trinity's
men and women won their first-ever cross country team titles,
and advanced to the NCAAs.

qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Senior Sal Perdomo
(Irving, TX/Jesuit College Prep) was 1.5 seconds shy in the
men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, while junior Jackie Newell
(Frankfort, IL/Lincoln) was behind by five seconds in the women's
event. Junior Maddie Murphy (Friendswood, TX/Friendswood)
missed the NCAA list by five seconds in the women's 10,000
meters.

the Year. Both Tiger teams are led by first year Head Coach
Marcus Whitehead. Other members of the coaching staff are Derick
Lawrence (also head men's and women's cross country coach), Thomas
Dimitri, Emily Daum, Joe Meno, Greg Roberts, and Todd Wildman.
