Box Score San Antonio - Three Trinity student-athletes have been honored with the top women's track and field awards from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Vanessa Moreno was elected SCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Year, first-year
Anecia Richardson was named Women's Field Athlete of the Year, while
Bailey Drury won the conference Women's Track and Field Newcomer of the Year accolades. Voting was conducted by the league's head coaches.
All three Tigers were major contributors to Trinity's winning the SCAC Track and Field Championship last month, held on campus.
Moreno (El Paso, TX/Horizon) won the SCAC 1,500 meters (4:42.54) and the 5,000 meters (19:15.83). She ran the 15th-fastest time in the NCAA Division III in the 10,000 meters (36:09.11) at the Mt. Sac Relays at Walnut, Calif. With that time, Moreno qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Championships at La Crosse, Wis., and finished 18th in the event.
Richardson (Dallas, TX/Ursuline Academy) won the SCAC shot put (11.07 meters), discus (34.85 meters), and hammer throw (30.12 meters). She also took third place in the javelin throw, and was the Female Athlete of the Meet.
A two-sport athlete, Richardson was earlier elected the SCAC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year, and the South Region Rookie of the Year by D3hoops.com.
Drury (Tampa, FL / Carrollwood Day School) was the conference champion in the 200 meters (25.76) and 400 meters (58.31), and was also a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay team (49.18) and the 4x400 relay unit (4:03.89).
In balloting conducted earlier, the coaching staff of Trinity - led by Head Coach
Marcus Whitehead - shared the SCAC Women's Track and Field Staff of the Year honors with the University of Dallas.
