Box Score San Antonio - The Tiger football team lost
a 14-7 game against the University of Chicago during Trinity's
Alumni Weekend.
Trinity fell to 1-5 on the season, while Chicago remains
unbeaten at 5-0 on the year. The Tigers committed three
turnovers in the game, and the Maroons scored both touchdowns on
turnovers. Trinity added a late touchdown in the fourth
quarter, but the comeback fell short.
Chicago scored on drives of 47 yards and 13 yards late in the
first quarter, starting both drives after Trinity fumbles.
The Tiger defense didn't allow any drives over 38 yards after
that, and gave up just 170 yards of total offense. Trinity
forced seven three-and-outs in the game, and gave up just 61 yards
after halftime.
Trinity scored its only touchdown with 2:28 left in the game, as
Desmond King rushed for a 38-yard score to avoid a shutout.
Quarterback Mason Blaschke led the team in rushing with 69 yards
on 18 carries, as well as adding 55 yards on 8-18 passing.
King finished with 67 yards on 11 carries, and the touchdown.
Chaz Davis caught three passes for 28 yards to lead all
receivers.
Three Trinity defenders finished with double digit tackles in
the game, led by Connor Yorloff's 16 stops. He also had 1.5
sacks for a loss of nine yards, tying Martel Matthews for the team
lead in sacks. Camden Joubert finished wtih 13 tackles for
the Tigers, while Julian Turner had 12 tackles and a six-yard sack.
Alejandro Anzaldua had eight tackles - 2.5 for loss, and one
sack, and Brad Hood had nine stops in the game, highlighted by 3.0
tackles for loss.
Chicago's Zak Ross-Nash rushed for 101 yards on 24 carries to
lead the game in rushing, while quarterback Patrick Ryan completed
8-18 for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Nathan Massey and Tom
O'Neill caught scoring passes from Ryan in the first quarter.
Trinity will be back in action next weekend, facing off against
Southwestern University in a non-conference matchup. The
Tigers and Pirates meet in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
action in Georgetown, Texas, on November 8.
