George Warren Finishes 18th in NCAA High Jump Championships

Box Score

Delaware, Ohio - Trinity senior George Warren finished 18th in the high jump competition at the NCAA Championships on Friday.

Warren was competing at nationals for the second straight season, finishing 14th at last year's competition.

In Friday's competition, Warren cleared 1.95 meters to start his evening, but failed to connect on the next height.  Christian Patterson from Wilmington (OH) was the winner with his jump of 2.12 meters.

Warren qualified for the event with his jump of 2.08 meters at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational earlier this season.  That mark would have been good enough for fifth place at the NCAA meet.

Trinity is led by Head Coach Marcus Whitehead, who has led four individuals to the NCAA Championships in his first two seasons.  The Tigers have also won back-to-back Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Championships under his direction, as well as one women's title.
