Box Score San Antonio - Britney Sullivan, Taylor Piske, and a women's relay team paced the Trinity Tigers on the final day of the University of the Incarnate Word Quadrangular track and field meet on Saturday.
Sullivan won the women's triple jump with a school-record mark of 11.48 meters. Her personal-best performance in the event is ranked No. 2 on the NCAA Division III national list. On Friday, Sullivan posted a personal best 5.56 meters in winning the long jump. The mark is ranked No. 1 nationally, and is the second-best jump in Trinity history.
Piske placed first in the men's 3,000 meters, clocking in at 9:06.63, for the seventh-best time in the Trinity record books. The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Bailey Drury, Mariana Sigala, Julia Camp, and Leah Wildman also emerged as champions, with a time of 4:11.61.
Nkolika Nweke finished as runner-up in the women's 200 meters (25.61 seconds), and in the 100 meters (12.41 seconds). Each time was second in the Tiger record books. Sigala was third in the 1,500 meters, with a personal-record time of 4:56.65 (eighth all-time Trinity mark). Elizabeth Peters was sixth in the 200 meters, while Genevieve Primeau and Michelle Oberndorf finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 3,000 meters.
Austin Brown was runner-up to Piske in the men's 3,000 meters (9:08.09, eighth all-time Trinity). Michael Erickson placed third in the 1,500 meters, and Eric Booker took a third-place finish in the 100 meters with a personal-record 11.11 seconds (ninth all-time Trinity). Booker also finished fourth in the 200 meters. Cody Wolfe was sixth in the 200 meters event, with a personal-best time of 22.40 seconds (eighth all-time Trinity). He also placed fourth in the 100 meters.
David Stroud registered a mark of 1.83 meters in the high jump, for a No. 3 finish. The jump was ninth-best at Trinity. Juan Hernandez set a personal-record in the 800 meters, Ian Planz came in at No. 4 in the 400 meters, and Travis Ish was ninth in the 800 meters.
The Trinity Invitational will be held Friday, March 27, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity University Track and Field Stadium.
