Box Score San Antonio - Trinity Tigers Taylor Piske and Cody Wolfe have been elected to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 Men's Track and Field/Cross Country First Team.
Voting is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Piske and Wolfe are now eligible for consideration for the national Academic All-America Team, to be announced in late June.
Piske is a junior majoring in engineering science, with a 3.81 GPA. At the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships, hosted by Trinity last month, Piske won the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters events. Last fall, Piske placed second at the SCAC Cross Country Championship at Boerne, Texas. He later earned All-Region honors with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Regional at Mount Berry, Georgia.
Wolfe recently received a bachelor's degree from Trinity in biochemistry/molecular biology, and amassed a 3.93 GPA. He was runner-up in the 200 meters race at the SCAC Track and Field Championships.
The Tiger men's and women's teams captured the SCAC Track and Field Championships, and were runners-up at the conference cross country meet. Marcus Whitehead is Trinity's head track and field coach, and Emily Daum is head coach of the cross country squads.
