Box Score Louisville, Kentucky - Two Trinity track & field school records were broken at the Louisville Twilight Classic at the University of Louisville on Friday, as the Tigers looked to improve their national consideration times.
Nkolika Nweke continued to shatter Tiger marks with a Trinity-best performance of 12.15 seconds in the women's 100 meters. Nweke placed fourth in the race, which consisted of competitors from other NCAA Divisions. The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Adam Saunders, Eric Booker, Cody Wolfe, and Eric Soo won the event and established a school record of 41.68 seconds.
Wolfe ran the 200 meters in 22.15 seconds and finished fifth, while Soo crossed the line in seventh place at 22.25 seconds. Both times were personal-bests for the Tiger athletes. Britney Sullivan posted a personal-best performance in the women's long jump, at 5.57 meters, while coming in fifth. Sullivan, Nweke, Elizabeth Peters, and Bailey Drury finished fourth in the 4x100 relay, clocking in at 49.10 seconds.
Bids will be issued May 17 for the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, and the Tigers are in the hunt for a number of slots. The championships will be held May 21-23 at Canton, New York.
Up next for the Trinity men's and women's teams will be a trip to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. The HSU Last Chance Meet will give the Tiger individuals one more shot at qualifying for nationals.
