Box Score San Antonio - Tiger women's golfer Brigette Lee has been elected to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America Division III At-Large Third Team.
The Academic All-America Teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America, honoring student-athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom. Lee, who is a rising senior, fits the bill in all categories.
Lee is a biochemistry and molecular biology major with a 3.99 cumulative GPA. She is a member of Trinity's Dean's List, and has been elected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. Lee earlier made the Capital One Academic All-District 8 Team, and has been listed on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
On the golf course, Lee has earned a slot on the All-SCAC Teams for the past three years. The most recent honor came after helping lead the Tigers to a second place finish at the 2015 SCAC Championship.
In 2013, Lee won the SCAC Women's Golfer of the Year award after capturing the individual title at the conference meet. She also was designated as the SCAC Freshman of the Year as the league's top first-year golfer. Lee finished third in the 2014 SCAC Championship, sparking the Tigers to the team title. It marked the first women's golf championship for Trinity since 1995.
Trinity is led by Director of Golf Carla Spenkoch, who focuses on coaching the women's team. Coach Spenkoch recently completed her 19th season in charge of the Tiger golf program.
