Box Score Houston, Texas - The Trinity men's and women's track and field teams opened their Indoor seasons Friday at the Houston Invitational and Multi's.
The event, which includes athletes from NCAA Division I, is taking place at the University of Houston's Yeoman Field House. Trinity's representatives more than held their own against the scholarship athletes.
"Today was a very good start to the indoor season," said Head Coach Marcus Whitehead. "Once we shook the nerves off, we really settled down and had a big day. The competition at this meet is very good, so I'm excited to see how day two goes."
Eric Booker placed 14th of 39 runners in the men's 200 meters, clocking in at 23.15 seconds. He also was 46th of 79 in the 60 meters, with a time of 7:16. Cody Hall qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, placing 19th, and clocking in at 8.31 seconds. Nkolika Nweke placed 38th in the women's 60 meters, at 7.91 seconds.
The meet concludes Saturday.
