Adam Krull Garners Second SCAC Men's Tennis Award

San Antonio - Trinity senior Adam Krull has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Krull produced an outstanding individual effort in the fifth-ranked Tigers matches last week at the Stag-Hen Invitational in Claremont, California. Trinity went 1-2 over the weekend, and defeated #17 Kenyon (OH) College 5-4 to open the tournament. The Tigers fell to #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges 6-3, and 5-4 to #11 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Both schools hosted the event.

Still, Krull posted 3-0 records in both singles and doubles competition. Against Kenyon, Krull was one of just two Tiger players to win in singles Krull and doubles partner Matt Tyer also were victorious as a tandem. Krull and Tyer fired up the Tigers to take a 2-1 lead after doubles against Claremont in the semifinals. In singles, Krull was the lone Trinity player to claim a victory in the match. During the third-place matchup against Pomona, the Tiger duo again led the charge as Trinity held a 2-1 advantage going into singles. Krull was bumped up to No. 1 singles, from the No. 2 line he previously played, and finished off in the win column. One other Tiger player took a singles decision in the tightly played match.

Trinity (9-8) wraps up its California trip today by taking on host Whittier College.
