San Antonio - Trinity first-year Lucas Rios has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

Rios placed sixth in the discus at last weekend's War Hawk Classic, held at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He posted a personal-best mark of 40.87 meters, or 134 feet, 1 inch. It ranks as the third-best throw in the conference this season. Rios finished 23rd in the shot put, at 9.93 meters, or 32 feet, 7 inches.

The Trinity Tiger Invitational is set for Friday at the Trinity University Track & Field Stadium. The first events will begin at 10:00 a.m.
