Box Score Seguin, Texas - The defending champion Trinity men's and women's teams hold first-day leads at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships after Friday's competition.
After six events at Bulldog Stadium, the Tiger men scored 75 points, leading host Texas Lutheran University by nine points. Trinity's women's team chalked up 72 points, and leads TLU by a 14-point margin.
"It was a solid day today," said Head Coach Marcus Whitehead. "I think, for the most part, we are where we thought we were going to be in regards to finals, and how many day one points. We are in a nice position with a small lead, but we can't get too comfortable, as there is a lot of meet left. Overall, I am happy with the effort, but we need to go for broke tomorrow to win this meet."
