Box Score Waverly, Iowa - Trinity sophomore Cody Hall placed ninth in the men's 110-meter hurdles preliminaries Friday, and just missed qualifying for the finals at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Hall ran the event in 14.60 seconds, only .07 seconds and one place shy of making the top eight in the field. He entered the nationals at Wartburg College seeded 14th, with a personal-best time of 14.52 seconds. Hall earlier made the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South/Southeast Region Team. He finished in the top five regionally in the 110-meter hurdles, the 400-meter hurdles, and the long jump.
Last month, Hall was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Meet, after winning the 110-meter hurdles, the 400-meter hurdles, and the long jump. Hall also was part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team, and was runner-up in the high jump.
Trinity's remaining entrant in the NCAAs is sophomore Britney Sullivan, who will compete Saturday in the women's triple jump. Participating in her second consecutive NCAA Outdoor meet, Sullivan is seeded 15th, with a jump of 11.78 meters.
