Abilene, Texas/Houston, Texas - Trinity's track & field teams performed admirably at the War Hawk Classic in Abilene, and the Victor Lopez Classic in Houston, on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS

Trinity's women's team finished third at the War Hawk Classic with a score of 119, while the Tiger men scored 60 points for a sixth-place finish. 

Britney Sullivan captured both the long jump and triple jump, wihle teammate Ayriel Coleman finished as runner-up in the triple jump. Nkolika Nweke was the winner of the 100 meters, with Elizabeth Peters placing third.

Abigail Schneebeck was a second-place finisher in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles, while Androniki Deftarios placed third in the 100 hurdles. The quartet of Peters, Nweke, Sullivan, and Katie Groke finished second in the 4x100-meter relay.

Cody Hall won the men's 110-meter hurdles in the War Hawk Classic, and Trent Walker was runner-up. Hall was second in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.95 meters, while Edgar Baez finished third. Matt Love came in second in the discus throw event, but was first among collegiate competitors.

Meanwhile, at Rice University in Houston, Molly McCullough set a personal-best time of 18:15.31 in the women's 5,000 meters, finishing in ninth place. Elliot Blake set a PR by finishing ninth in the men's 1,500 meters in 4:01.23. Laura Taylor came in at #12 in the women's 1,500 meters, with a PR of 4:54.06. Jacob Hammond ran his first 3,000-meter steeplechase of the season, and finished 13th.

Runners in the 10,000 meters were pulled off the track because of lightning in the area.

On Saturday at the Victor Lopez Classic, Michael Erickson raced to a 14th-place finish among mostly Division I and Division II competitors in the 1,500 meter run, finishing in the SCAC-leading time of 3:57.45.
