Box Score 2 San Antonio - The 15th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team lost 4-1 to NCAA Division I University of Texas at San Antonio on Wednesday.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Roadrunners won two of three doubles and took the first point of the dual match, played by Division I rules.
Chas Mayer and Clayton Niess won #2 doubles by the score of 7-6. Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth fell in the top doubles match, while Jordan Pitts and Liam Crawley lost a tightly played third-line pairing.
UTSA took a 3-0 lead, as Tilden Oliver lost #6 singles, and McKenna Fujitani came up short on the fifth line. Lambeth kept the Tigers fighting by winning #2 singles in straight sets.
The clincher for the Roadrunners came at #4 singles, with Crawley playing for the Tigers.
NOTABLES
The Tigers now stand at 11-10, while UTSA improved to 6-16.
The doubles team of Chas Mayer and Clayton Niess is sporting a 12-4 record, while Wilson Lambeth won his third straight singles match, and captured his 11th overall victory.
