Box Score 2 Tyler, Texas - The 15th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team wrapped up its trip to East Texas with a 5-4 victory over #13 Whitman (WA) College Saturday.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers led 2-1 after doubles, with Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth winning the #1 slot, and Chas Mayer and Clayton Niess capturing the second line. Liam Crawley and Jordan Pitts were edged 9-7 in the third doubles.
Whitman tied the score at 2-2 as McKenna Fujitani lost #5 singles.
The Tigers pulled ahead 4-2 with Pitts winning #3 singles, and Lambeth coming out on top on the #2 line.
Crawley won a three-setter to clinch the match at #4 singles. Mayer lost #1 singles, and Tilden Oliver fell at #6, as both matches went to a third set.
NOTABLES
The Tigers now stand at 11-9 on the season, while Whitman is sporting an 18-6 record.
Trinity defeated the host and 17th-ranked University of Texas-Tyler 7-2 on Friday.

The Tigers will take on the NCAA Division I University of Texas at San Antonio on Wednesday. The match begins at 5:00 p.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
