Trinity's Matt Love Heads List of 12 Trinity Track & Field All-Region Honorees

San Antonio - Trinity had 12 track & field student-athletes named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South/Southeast All-Region team, including Matt Love who was named USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year.

Love headed a list of 12 Trinity student-athletes who qualified for the All-Region Team. The USTFCCCA recognized the top-five individuals in each event, as well as the Region's best-three relay teams for All-Region accolades.

Love hurled the discus 51.52 meters and is currently ranked #1 in the South/Southeast Region andeighth in this week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Cody Hall joins his teammate on the All-Region team with a posted time of 14.40 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, which is the earned him the seventh seed in the NCAA Championships. Hall's time is the best in the South/Southeast Region. He also made All-Region distinction in the 400-meter hurdles (54.14 seconds, third in the Region) and the long jump (7.10 meters, fourth in the region).

Ayriel Coleman is seeded 14th in the NCAA Women's triple jump with a mark of 11.79 meters (second in the Rregion). Britney Sullivan enters the postseason event in the triple jump seeded 17t, with a mark of 11.78 meters (fourth in the region). Additionally, Sullivan garnered All-Region recognition in the long jump with a leap of 5.63 meters (third in the region).

Molly McCullough is the 15 seed in the NCAA 3,000-meter steeplechase with a qualifying time of 10:52.60 (second in the Region). Nkolika Nweke is seeded 17th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.04 seconds (fifth in the Region). Nweke also is ranked fifth regionally in the 200 meters at 24.80 seconds. Laura Taylor made the All-Region Team with a fourth-place time of 17:44.46 in the 5,000 meters.

Trinity's 4x400-meter relay team earned a slot on the All-Region list, finishing fourth with a time of 4:01.79. The quartet consisted of Andy Garza, Katie Groke, Claire Rettenmaier, and Abigail Schneebeck.

Schneebeck earned individual All-Region kudos in the 100-meter hurdles (15.20 seconds, fifth in the Region) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.77, fifth Regionally). Groke also placed third in the 400 meters at 57.92 seconds. Makenna Bentley was sixth in the Region in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters.
