San Antonio - The Trinity men's tennis team swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades.

First-year Wilson Hamilton was selected as the SCAC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week. Junior Wilson Lambeth and sophomore Jordan Pitts were tabbed as the SCAC Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for the second straight occasion.

The three Tigers excelled at each of their positions in two home matches last week. Thirteenth-ranked Trinity rallied to defeat NCAA Division II member St. Edward's (TX) University 5-4. The weekend finale was a hard-fought 5-4 loss to Laredo (TX) Community College, ranked sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Junior College Poll.

Hamilton went 2-0 in singles, first battling his way to a three-set victory at #2 singles against St. Edward's. He then moved to the top position and beat his opponent from Laredo Community College in straight sets. Hamilton is sporting a 3-1 singles record this season, including a 2-1 mark on the #1 line.

Lambeth and Pitts were also undefeated, winning both of their #1 doubles matches. The Tiger tandem defeated St. Edward's 8-3 and then beat the LCC duo 8-5. They stand at 4-2 on the season at #1 doubles.

Trinity (2-5) heads to St. Peter, Minnesota, over the weekend for the ITA Division III Men's Indoor Championships. The Tigers open the three-day event Friday with a match against second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges.
