#15 Men's Tennis Battles For a Victory Over #31 Kalamazoo

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

San Antonio - The 15th-ranked men's tennis has won their sixth straight match after earning a 7-2 victory over #31 Kalamazoo (MI) College Tuesday evening.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

The Tigers got on the board first with an 8-3 win at line one, as Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth secured their ninth consecutive doubles victory. After Kalamazoo tied things up with a narrow 8-5 win at line three, the first-year duo of Wilson Hamilton and Jace Akagi-Okuma sent the Tigers to singles with a 2-1 lead with their sixth straight win.

Lambeth quickly scored a straight-set victory at line three to start off singles, while Akagi-Okuma followed suit at #4 singles to give Trinity a commanding 4-1 lead.

The Hornets took the next point by defeating Tilden Oliver at line five, but Pitts clinched the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at line two.

That proved to be a key win for Trinity, as Kalamazoo took both Hamilton and Lars Wiik to a third set at lines one and six. Wiik was first off the board with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 win, though, and Hamilton won 7-6 (7-2) in a third-set tiebreaker to finish off Trinity's 7-2 win.
