Box Score 2 Colorado Springs, Colorado - The 14th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team swept Centenary College 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Tigers started off strong in doubles competition, as Austin Crist and Tilden Oliver got things going with a quick 8-0 win at line three. Wilson Hamilton and Jace Akagi-Okuma took the next point of the match with an 8-0 victory of their own, and Wilson Lambeth and Jordan Pitts finished off doubles play with an 8-1 decision at line one.
In singles, Akagi-Okuma made quick work of his opponent at line four with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Lambeth then clinched the match for the Tigers with a 6-0, 6-1 win at line three.
Hamilton and Pitts represented Trinity at lines one and two, but their matches were left unfinished.
Akagi-Okuma has now won 11 consecutive singles matches to improve to 16-8 this season.
Lambeth has won nine straight singles matches of his own, evening his overall record to 12-12 on the year. Lambeth and Pitts have also now won 14 consecutive doubles matches to improve to 18-5 overall.
